anders trentemollers career is a travel-heavy one, with his touring schedule taking him pretty much all over the world. but its his home port thats inspired his latest project, the sprawling, stunning compilation mix harbour boat trips vol. 02: copenhagen. clocking in at just over an hour long, the compilation sees trentemoller curate and craft sixteen songs into a heavy, hazy mix that ranges from shoegaze to electronica, featuring both familiar and celebrated artists like a place to bury strangers (with a new trentemoller remix) and slowdive to more obscure finds, as well as trentemollers own tracks and remixes, most notably a brand new trentemoller cover of neil youngs classic transformer man.the mix sees him pick up a thread he left off earlier in his career. in 2009 he put together harbour boat trips 01: copenhagen, a compilation mix comprised of his favourite music, both danish and international, from across four decades, loosely inspired by the motion and movement of copenhagens busy harbour. closing in on a decade later, were getting the second edition, with harbour boat trips - 02 arriving this november.

after relocating from california at 7 years old, nasser grew up in a musical environment in new jersey. surrounded by gifted artists from an early age, nasser was fed a diet of authentic 70 s soul, 80 s pop and 90 s hip hop and r&b, which all influenced the spirit of his music and his trademark big production. at only 24 years old nasser displays real musical maturity and a subterranean fearlessness in his productions. mentored by house music master dennis ferrer, nasser has released three ep s and on the indispensible objektivity label, as well as remixing dennis iconic son of raw in 2017. his gramercy ep on suara revealed nasser s more techier side, exposing his wider abilities. his most recent release on objektivity, the just like that ep , dropped in summer 2017, in tune with his first ibiza season. this is a rare gem of a record from fantastic soul band the soul kids stemming from the democratic republic of congo, including covers of james brown & the mighty flames hit singles -lickin stick- (1968), -papa s got a brand new bag- (1965), wilson pickett’s -hey jude- and a french vocal version of otis redding’s soul hit -respect -. this amazing young band, which released only four 7inch singles and one album, is a great example of the influence of soul music and french pop bridging to the new afro soul scene that the musicians of kinshasa were involved in during the time of post-independence. ngoma was one of the first record labels intent on providing local artists recordings from both sides of the congo river to the people of the drc and west africa. created in 1948 by a greek man by the name of nicolas jeronimidis, the ngoma label was active through 1968, pressed in france until 1971, with a tremendous catalogue, including this historical and essential soul masterpiece!

r-time records releases two tracks from iceland’s sanasol, aka thor and yagya, entitled long lost thoughts - originally appearing on deep thoughts lp via hey babe! in 97. out of all of thors aliases, which includes oz artists, flow machine and thor54, sanasol, his duo project alongside yagya, is arguably the most prolific. on top of appearances on thors own renowned imprint thule records, as sanasol the pair have released on fear of flying, connaisseur superieur and alex azary and pascal f.e.o.s.s hey babe! of which the latter homed the‘deep thoughts album. matt edwards r-time now releases two of the long players finest tracks, following recent revivals of timeless music by sir lord commix and fbk. long lost thoughts begins by utilising filtered chord stabs alongside a thumping bass and sustained strings before the track progresses with ethereal pads combined with resonant bells playing a top line melody. on the flip, in the sky of normality presents shuffled drums with crisp hi-hats and a strong low-end whilst delayed synths pan left and right throughout keeping things atmospheric and mesmerising.

tony clarke did his first recording in new york in 1971 at hugh hendricks recording studio called -righteous man- of which he played both bass and lead guitar. tony clarke decided to write the song “going home” to reference the roots of his music. in those days and even now good reggae music that was being recorded in the united states was not receiving the approbation from home because, in jamaica they felt that the best reggae music could only come from and be created in jamaica to substantiate the true feeling of the genre. so he decided to go back to jamaica and record “going home” at harry j studio with sylvan morris as engineer. he also recorded the cover version to “hey little girl” originally done by dee clark. for this 12 vinyl edition, the artwork was done with a vintage photo of tony clarke in front of his house at waterhouse and extended liner notes on the back cover.

vor mehr als einer dekade erschien das großartige debütalbum -attack decay sustain release- des englischen duos simian mobile disco auf wichita recordings. für ihr fünftes album mit dem titel -murmurations- haben sich die beiden das schwarmverhalten (auf englisch -murmurations-) von vögeln als vorlage genommen und zusammen mit den sängerinnen des londoner deep throat choir (bella union) ein besonderes klangkonzept entwickelt. nahezu unheimliche soundstrukturen steigen aus einem meer an stimmern empor und bilden ungewöhnliche wie komplexe akkorde und harmonien. das bedeutet jedoch nicht, dass das album avantgardistisch oder schwierig ist. vielmehr vermischen sich die stimmexperimente perfekt mit den bekannten techno/dancefloor-beats des duos.
